Full Job Description

In this critical role you will provide practical planning expertise and guidance to enable successful and efficient delivery of schemes across the business. Assisting with providing strategic direction across large programmes of work and advising on relevant consenting processes and strategies.,

  • Preparation and submission of Town & Country Planning applications.

  • Preparation and submission of Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Opinions.

  • Preparation of scoping reports for Environmental Impact Assessments.

  • Develop creative and original planning solutions.

  • Build strong relationships with local planning authorities to facilitate best value designs to be approved and understand the extent to which Anglian Water's Permitted Development Rights can be implemented.

  • Work closely with local planning authorities to facilitate agreement of planning conditions where required.

  • Work in a collaborative way with engineers, construction teams and external stakeholders to deliver schemes on time, on budget and with minimal environmental impact.

  • Attendance at external stakeholder meetings to promote and explain proposals.

  • Consult with the Legal Department with regards to covenants, access, and land purchase, including compulsory purchase.

  • Use digital technology to drive innovation and efficiency within the Enabling Team, the wider business and local planning authorities.

  • Provide training and guidance on Town and County Planning to Enabling Team and wider business.

    To join the team in this involved and important role you will need to be educated to degree level in a relevant subject that is accredited by the RTPI. A Chartered Member of the RTPI or working towards the accreditation. You have experience of preparing and submitting planning applications, Environmental Impact Assessments and Screening Opinions, and experience of infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure projects. You'll be comfortable using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) packages (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo), and experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
