Test Engineer - AWS / Node - Weather / News / Sport Web - Manchester - Contract Inside IR3 [UK]

We're looking for test specialist who is a real team individual to work with our media client to be responsible for the compatibility, accessibility and functional testing of their Weather and News & Sports websites.

• JavaScript

• AWS stack (Lambda, EC2, CloudWatch)


• APIs, The successful applicant will have demonstratable REST API testing expertise, have an understanding of continuous integration and deployment methodologies, be comfortable providing test input at all stages of development and have knowledge of accessibility testing., have several years' experience of functional backend testing REST APIs using Postman or similar


• have understanding of continuous integration and deployment methodologies


• be able to provide test input at all stages of development


• have knowledge of accessibility testing (e.g. assistive technology, tab indexes, off-screen content)


• be able to write high quality documentation


• have experienced working in an Agile team


• be a keen team player with a strong willingness to learn


Desirable Skills


• Experience of AWS


• Experience of Git


• Experience of any JavaScript framework and able to interpret JavaScript code


• Proficient exploratory testing skills


• Excellent problem solving skills with a growth mindset


• Understanding of advantages/disadvantages of using test automation and some experience of web automation tools


• Strong communication skills, A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.


• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.


• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.


• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring


• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.


• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.


• You are flexible and curious in your approach
