Full Job Description
- Liaison with landlords and clients
- Updating property vacancy lists
- Interviewing clients and entering report on Case Management System
- Assisting clients in finding suitable accommodation, offering pre tenancy coaching if required
- Landlord liaison and recruitment and maintaining an up to date property vacancy list.
- Monitoring of Rentstart Guarantee Deposits

- Able to represent Spelthorne Rentstart responsibly and professionally at all levels
Spelthorne Rentstart is a homelessness Charity based in Staines, situated within the Spelthorne Council offices. The Charity has been partially funded by the Council since 1997 and works collaboratively with the Council to house non-priority single adults and childless couples to access accommodation in the Private Rented Sector (PRS). - Access to a vehicle, with a current licence (mileage paid)
- Willingness to work flexibly to cover the needs of the service - occasional evening or weekend work or event attendance may be required. It is accepted that time off in lieu will be granted where appropriate
· Develop a Personalised Housing Plan to improve life chances, wellbeing, physical and emotional health and life opportunities.
· Assist clients with all aspects of the tenancy from applying for Universal Credit/Housing Benefit, Discretionary Housing Payment applications, budgeting and setting up utilities.
· Regular contact and tenancy support according to the needs of the clients e.g. bi-weekly, weekly, monthly meetings.
· Work collaboratively with our partner agencies to improve life skills, the health and wellbeing of clients allowing them to reintegrate into the local community. This may include mental health issues, addiction issues, criminal pasts
· Collaborate with Partner agencies to give clients with multiple and complex needs increased confidence to engage with local services to improve job prospects and actively support them back to work or with education and training.
· Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with clients to facilitate the best possible outcomes.
· To manage a caseload and keep appropriate records on the database.
· Support Spelthorne Rentstart in wider work such as fundraising and community presence.
· Work closely with the Managers to ensure clients maintain accommodation, make rent payments, are not in arrears and set up affordable repayment plans.
· Liaise with our volunteers.
· Able to inspire confidence in clients and landlords alike

The Extra Project (2018-2021) assisted 123 individuals with 'multiple and complex' needs into the PRS over the course of the project.
The new Extra Care Project is a continuation of the Extra project and will continue to support those previously housed.
The project seeks to assist clients with 'multiple and complex' needs to secure and maintain a tenancy in the PRS and encourages them to create further life chances for themselves in their local community.
