Full Job Description
Job Purpose: In this role you will be using your technical operations skills in a studio and live playout environment to support the production and delivery of broadcast content for the Create & Craft and Craft Extra television channels.,
- Scheduling shows on automated playout software to ensure continuity of 24/7 broadcasting.
- Rig and derig technical equipment in a safe manner as directed to support production requirements.
- Prepare the studio for use, before and during live hours.
- Sound mixing and assisting the presenters and guests with their microphones.
- Operate technical equipment in the production of live and occasional pre-recorded studio content as required.
- Clean and maintain equipment.
- First line technical support to studios and galleries.
- Report/escalate technical issues in a timely manner so that problems are addressed quickly and with minimal impact on the output.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other teams to ensure effective delivery of requests for broadcast.
- Attend production meetings when requested.
- Shoot and edit VT/record voice overs when requested.
- Comply with all Health and Safety policies and promote a positive safety culture.
- Ad-hoc Vision Mixing and Floor Managing will be required at the request of TV Management in any emergency situations that may arise.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated. - An understanding of video and audio standards.
- Working knowledge of lighting control.
- Knowledge of microphone techniques and basic sound mixing.
- An understanding of studio and gallery procedures and the TV infrastructure.
- Be a good team player.
- Good communication skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Previous experience in a technical operations or transmission/MCR based role.
- Working knowledge of lighting/sound/vision
- Previous experience in a technical support-based role.
- Basic vision mixing ability is advantageous.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere/Photoshop/Audit
