Technical Assistant / Product Specification Technologist- Food Manufacturer & Retailer Leigh

We are seeking to recruit a Technical Assistant / Product Specification Technologist to assist the technical team to deal with internal and external product requirements. Initially for maternity cover (18 months) which may lead to a permanent position.,

• To interact with customers on technical issues related to a variety of specification/material queries.


• Liaise with our company buyer to the completion and sign off of raw material ingredient specifications.


• To liaise with ingredient suppliers on checking ingredient specifications meet the supplier's policy expectations.


• To review copy artwork, in line with customer, technical and labelling policies.


• To maintain retailers web based online technical systems. Including new line implementatioN.


• Creation and management of all product labels.


• Liaising with NPD on new product developments and ensuring product specifications are ready for launch.


• Management of allergen information both internal and external labelling requirements.


• To ensure that our recipe system is update with regards product recipe ingredients and pricing for costing purposes
  
  Experience of working with retail supermarkets in a similar position.


• Experience of using retailer specification systems.


• Knowledge of legal labelling legislation.


• Experience gained within a food manufacturing environment.


• Excellent I.T skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills., A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


Experience:

• Food Production Management: 1 year (preferred)


• Legal Labelling legislation: 1 year (preferred)

• On-site parking, Ideally, we are looking for someone to work 5 days per week Monday - Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 3.30pm 37.5 hours per week. Slightly reduced weekly hours will be considered.
