Team Member

We are looking for someone to join our team at Captain Ted's. Captain Ted's is a children's entertainment centre with an in house ice cream and milkshake parlour. We provide an after school and holiday club and are located in the heart of Gosforth. We are happy to receive applications from those in education and looking for their first part time job.

There is great variety in the post with training given in all areas. You will be hands on and one day is never the same as another. From manning reception to delivering craft sessions all in a days work.

Hours: negotiable, term time or holiday contracts available

Summary of position: Play Centre Team Members are responsible for assisting in all areas of the play centre. A PCTM may have a mixture of duties in any day and are expected to cover and move between each of the areas that they have had training in.

Primary Responsibilities:

Cleaning - Every member of staff has responsibilities for ensuring a high level of cleanliness at all times throughout the whole of Captain Ted's including toilets. Training will be provided.

Soft Play Assistant - Supervision of play frame and providing general help for children who may require additional assistance or indeed be unsure of play frame. Training will be provided.

After School/Holiday Club -Walking the children to captain Ted's from different sites. Assist in the supervision and welfare of children who attend the after school club. Organising the setting out and clearing away of resources to create a purposeful and attractive learning environment. Supervising a wide range of play and learning activities. Supervision of play frame and providing general help for children who may require additional assistance or indeed be unsure of play frame.

Reception/Customer Service - Providing a high level of customer service to all customers entering and exiting the play area. Taking payment and keeping an accurate record of children entering/exiting Captain Ted's. Ensuring all adult and children are made aware of the 'rules of play' and safety issues entering play area. Ensuring customers are made aware of any future events taking place within Captain Ted's.

Logging party bookings. Training will be provided.

Barista - Preparing and serving drinks and snacks.
Processing food orders and taking them to the customers.

Food preparation. Freshly preparing a variety of foods as customers order them. Training will be provided.

Party Host - Training will be provided.

Sales- Selling events and parties.

Experience - Experience of working in a cafe environment

Experience of working in a childcare environment / Experience in working in leisure or retail sector / Working with the general public/ Cash Handling.

Must be willing to undertake relevant training and attend meetings as requested.,
