Scribbleton is a brand-new indoor role play centre for children aged 0-7 in Winkleigh. Scribbleton's ethos is to provide educational and fun play experiences for children in a vibrant, safe and inclusive environment. We are looking for friendly and welcoming team members with a commitment to providing excellent service and maintaining high standards in all tasks. We want proactive team players who are ready to get stuck in to a range of responsibilities, from welcoming and signing in customers, to making food and cleaning and resetting our play space.
Staff will work on a shift pattern to include some weekends between 9am and 6pm, exact hours to be discussed at interview, Customer Service:
- Greet visitors warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist parents and children with enquiries, bookings, and any other assistance they may require.
- Ensure a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all visitors.
Role Play Facilitation:
- Monitor role play sessions to ensure safety.
- Maintain a safe and supervised environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Act as a point of contact for birthday party groups to ensure an enjoyable and smooth experience for children and adults.
Centre Maintenance:
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of play areas before and after sessions.
- Monitor and replenish supplies as needed, including café stock, toilet roll and others as necessary.
- Perform regular routine cleaning tasks to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the centre.
Food & Drink Service
- Prepare and service barista style coffee and other hot drinks.
- Party food prep and service whilst maintaining excellent food and hygiene standards.
- Make and prepare café food to order whilst maintaining excellent food and hygiene standards.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other staff members to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operation of the centre.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Contribute ideas for enhancing the visitor experience and improving overall operations.
Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with administrative duties such as managing bookings, processing payments, and maintaining records.
- Maintaining accurate records in relations to health, hygiene and food safety.
Previous experience working with children in a similar setting would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children and parents.
- Enthusiasm for imaginative play and a genuine interest in fostering creativity in children.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Good IT skills for the use and management of booking and EPOS software.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to use your initiative.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and holidays as required.
- Current DBS, Food Hygiene Level 2 and First Aid Certificate would be an advantage.
- Full training both onsite and at home (online) will be required, so a self-motivated attitude and willingness to learn is essential.
