Full Job Description

Working within the Voids, Minor works, Damp & Disrepair team your primary role will be to manage a team of directly employed Electricians, subcontracted Electricians and Electrical Contractors, delivering our EICR program.
You will have oversite of all electrical works and electricians operating in our properties undertaking periodic inspections, delivering repairs upgrades and rewires. Ensuring all electricians including contractors follow best working practice and ensure all test equipment is maintained and calibrated.
Working alongside a contract managing surveyor and two other general Team Leaders you will advise and instruct on electrical standards and best practice.
Role Requirements

  • Ensuring all voids have a completed EICR and that all properties across our housing stock have a current EICR within 5 years.

  • Liaising with our capital delivery team to ensure electrical works undertaken during the replacement of kitchen heating or bathroom works are being programmed and completed in a timely manner and in accordance with council policies and specifications.

  • Work with our external and internal Building surveyors to identify electrical works required to address disrepair claims or damp & mold complaints in occupied properties undertaking site visits and responding in writing as appropriate and as required.

  • Be accountable for the prioritization of these works alongside the day to day job of repairing voids and delivering EICRs

  • Have the drive and ambition to seek continuous improvement of yourself and your team, monitor their performance and drive change where it is required.

  • You will also be expected to provide cover for other Team Leaders and provide advice and or instruction to R&M

  • You will authorize works to be passed to contractors and ensure the best value for money is delivered by them.

  • Have significant trade or other experience within a social housing setting.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent construction knowledge and be able to accurately specify and detail works required to facilitate repair s and maintenance of our properties.

  • Experience of managing people and have the ability and desire to drive and improve performance of trades staff and property inspectors.

  • You must have Testing and inspection qualifications.
