Full Job Description

To assist the Day Care Service Manager in the service delivery and staffing within a day care setting., · To assist Manager in ensuring maintenance of recognised quality standards.
· To assist the Manager in dissemination and implementation of Company Policy and procedure and relevant information to staff.
· Represent manager and chair various meetings in manager's absence.
· To develop, monitor, implement and review Personal Care/Support Plans to meet the stated objectives of care plans.
· Support Manager in implementation of change management.
· Support the delivery of agreed Team Targets.
· Prioritise and allocate work-plan arrangements and take responsibility for service delivery.
· Provide a flexible and person centred response to people we support and their families
· Support the Manager in development and maintenance of joint working arrangements with internal and external stakeholders.
· Provide effective support to people who use the service through person centred care planning.
· Ensure appropriate involvement of people, their families and carers in design, delivery and reviewing of service provision.
· Responsible for communicating appropriately and effectively (verbally and in writing) with staff and all stakeholders.
· Facilitate performance appraisal, performance management and supervision
· Support staff to achieve recognised relevant qualifications
· Facilitate local staff induction
· Responsibility to communicate effectively with staff
· Deputise for the manager when required
· Joint working in partnership with local communities, key stakeholders and supporters
· Actively participate in any recruitment and selection processes
· To provide budgetary assistance to the manager.
· Delegated responsibility for petty cash
· Responsibility for budget and payment of external resources e.g. agency workers
· Review update and apply company Health and Safety policy and procedure. E.g, Medication policy, Safe Handling and Lifting
· Implement Risk Management Policy
· Conduct regular Risk Assessments
· Compliance with standards for security of buildings, contents and confidential information
· Key Holding
· Compliance with Information Security, Data protection and Freedom of information
· Reporting of property and asset repair
· Prioritise own workload
· Ensuring appropriate dissemination of duties
· Ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained
· Conduct Service Reviews and assist with Quality Audits
· Ensuring provision of service delivery
· Responsibility for appropriate implementation of Quality Management standards are maintained and evaluated against practice
· Ability to escalate issues of concern appropriately
· First line management of employee relations issues, Provide maternity cover for the outlined role which includes assisting the Day Care Service Manager in the service delivery and staffing within a day care setting
and be the operational lead for all staffing and delivery requirements pertaining to the day care location the postholder is based at.

1. Health and Social Care Qualification at level 3 or equivalent
2. Understanding of the role of management in a social care setting
3. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
4. Knowledge and understanding of quality standards and service requirements
5. Specialist knowledge of person centred approaches and delivery of care, support in community based services.
6. Specialist health and safety awareness if applicable to role
· Comprehensive understanding of the activities and objectives of the company policies and a good understanding of wider strategic plans, both current and future.
· Setting challenging but achievable targets.
· Working collaboratively and building relationships with customers to establish the key issues and anticipate requirements.
· Acting as a customer champion within the company.

· Strong analytical skills and problem solving capability.
· Must be IT literate and be confident using all Microsoft Office packages
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

· Ability to work with other professionals/service users/carers/families and promote partnership working.
· Ability to write reports and maintain records.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· Management qualification
· Experience of management in a social care setting
· Previous experience of working in social care in the private, voluntary and charity sector

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

· To undertake any other such duties that maybe be required when instructed by a Manager, Senior Manager including Assistant Director.

· Must be flexible and willing to work across day care locations as and when required.
· Contribute to annual one to one appraisal, regular supervision and team meetings.

· Must ensure to keep up to date with ongoing mandatory training (e-learning and face to face sessions).

· Must have a clear enhanced DBS check on a regular basis.

£18.08 per hour
