Full Job Description

We are looking for a Team Leader to join our #WeAreMcCain family.

You will also need to:

  • Ensure the required product is produced within budget to satisfy customer requirements

  • Take responsibility and accountability for making 'best for business' decisions

  • To ensure the plant is operating in line with its Health & Safety, Environmental and Food Safety requirements

  • To ensure the plant constantly and consistently operates to food safety requirements

  • Maintain cross functional relationships within the plant; listening generously, breaking down silos and promoting a one team mindset

  • To work closely with the engineering department to schedule in essential and preventative maintenance work, necessary shutdown periods and sanitisation

  • Foster an environment of inclusion and everyday engagement that provides capability and inspires performance ensuring that succession planning is in place supported by regular performance reviews and Personal Development Planning.


  • High quality, hygiene, maximum production, and a high level of safety - is our number one priority here at McCain.

    We are looking for someone who can really make a difference to our plant, who brings experience of working in a team, the ability to work closely with their manager, and who has a real ability to bring people along a change journey with them.

  • Experience of running Food Production Processes (essential)

  • Managing people and facilitating results (essential)

  • Experience of managing a high volume 24/7 production environment (essential)

  • Experience of hands on culture change

  • Complete working knowledge of manufacturing best practice (essential)

  • Demonstrate practical implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques (essential)

  • Health and Safety / Food Safety best practice (essential)

    WHERE WILL I WORK?

  • You'll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire. And together our small, but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
