Full Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Teaching Fellow for a period of 12 months to deliver our existing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The post holder will teach core International Relations and Politics modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and teaching on core and specialist International Relations and Politics modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Teaching students using appropriate instruction methods, setting and assessing students' work, and providing lecturing and seminar support on other modules in International Relations and Politics (as appropriate)

  • Supervising and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate students' dissertations

  • Contributing to curriculum development including planning, evaluation and updating of courses and course materials

  • Caring for the pastoral needs of students including counselling, welfare and guidance.

    A PhD in International Relations or a closely related discipline or be near completion

  • Experience of teaching or demonstrable potential to teach International Relations and Politics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

  • Experience of, or demonstrable ability to, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and lead modules

  • A commitment to the delivery of an excellent student experience, placing our students at the heart of all that you do

  • The ability to work collegially in a team and independently

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
