Full Job Description

We have a rare opportunity for 4 inspiring and imaginative teaching assistants to be part of a team that launches a brand-new school. You will work within a class group assisting the teacher, supporting learning for all students plus offering 1:1 support and related interventions.

Demonstrate that they can meet the needs of secondary aged children who have experienced difficulty in accessing mainstream education. Have an awareness of additional SEND needs which impact on children's ability to self-regulate - communication and interaction; cognition and learning; sensory and physical needs. Be inclusive, empathetic, solution focused and passionate about making a difference for our learners Have an awareness of trauma informed practices and positive mental health promotion Have a clear understanding of, and ability to, manage behaviour that challenges Be a team player and a strong advocate for change, progression and continuous school improvement

32.5 hours per week term time only with full year pay

About the School

Manor Abbey School will be a provision for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and resulting challenging behaviours.

The new school is scheduled to open in Abbey Hulton, Stoke on Trent in September 2024. There will be an initial intake of up to 30 pupils across year 7 and 8.
