Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant for a reception class. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student, teachers, and other staff members to support the educational and developmental needs of pupils. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and contribute to their growth and success.
Duties:
- Support the student in their academic, social, and emotional development
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Help prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized classroom
- Monitor student progress and document observations as required
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
Experience working with children, including those with autism or special needs
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with students on an individual level
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or coursework in special education or related field
- Health & wellbeing programme
