Start date: September 2024 (subject to completion of all safer recruitment checks and safeguarding training).

We are looking for a keen and experienced full-time teacher of Science to join a small, supportive department at our friendly school. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching Science to pupils in KS3 and KS4. The post would involve teaching Science with a specialism for Physics in mixed ability/set groups to include teaching the Double Award and separate science GCSEs. We are pleased to offer small classes of pupils with very supportive parents.

The successful candidate must:

  • Be a positive role model for our pupils.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate pupils.

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner who is able to engage and inspire pupils in KS3 and KS4 to achieve success.

  • Be an experienced and qualified teacher with an excellent subject knowledge, holding QTS and a relevant undergraduate degree.

  • Be committed practitioner who wants to attain the highest standards in teaching and learning and who expects excellence from students.

  • Be an enthusiastic, collaborative and motivated individual who will teach the subject though a variety of innovative approaches.

  • Be a strong team player who forms excellent relationships with staff, parents and students.

  • Have strong IT skills and an interest in developing the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Be willing to become a form tutor to a group of pupils in the Senior School.
