Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic teacher or instructor to join our successful Design and Technology Faculty, someone with energy and innovation with a passion for Food Technology and the learning experience. Those individualswho have experience in catering/cookery may also apply as unqualified teachers.

The successful candidate will be asked to teach across the ability and age range, supporting the development of Food Technology to a high standard for all students.

The successful candidate will:

· Be an outstanding teacher or someone with experience in this field who can learn the required curriculum.

· Raise achievement through high quality teaching and learning in Technology.

Helena Romanes is a thriving, all-through school for children aged 4-18, situated in the beautiful North Essex countryside. It has good communications to London and the South East, and it is approximately 7 miles from Stansted Airport. This is an exciting time to join the school:

  • In September 2021, the school opened a Primary phase, with children in Reception and Key Stage 1. Together with the expansion of the Sixth Form, the school will grow to become an all-through school of 2000 pupils from ages 4 to 18.


  • It is planned that the school will relocate to a world-class, purpose built site, close to our current location in Dunmow, in September 2025.


  • Helena Romanes has made excellent progress with the support of Saffron Academy Trust towards being judged by Ofsted as a Good school.
