Talent Academies Manager

The RYA is looking for an individual to fulfil the role of Talent Academies Manager, with the passion and commitment to identify, support and develop sailors with medal winning potential.

This new role has been introduced to lead on the development of the British Youth Sailing Academy initiative. The aim of the programme is to identify sailors with high potential annually, create high performance environments with expert coaching to support transitions and sailor development at a regional level.

The programme has a clear intent and purpose and the role of the Talent Academies Manager is to take this concept and turn it into an effective and inspirational talent programme.

What you'll be doing:

1. Leading 4 English Academies
2. Engage with Home Countries to integrate Home Countries Acadameis
3. Recruit, lead and manage a coaching team at each Academy
4. Coordinate and lead National camps
5. Management of budgets

• Do you have comprehensive knowledge of long-term athlete development principles


• Do you have strong skills in mentoring, leadership and influence?


• Do you have experience of working with performance athletes and coaches with the ability to influence and inspire?
