Full Job Description

As a Survival Equipment Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs to any/all RAF Survival Equipment and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies as required to always meet or exceed customer expectations and HADES contractual needs.

Day-to-day, you'll schedule the maintenance of Survival Equipment and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies, as well as:

  • Periodic, after use and corrective maintenance of wet/dry drill equipment.

  • Maintenance documentation and record to be maintained IAW current regulations.

  • Calibration and recording of Torque tools as and when required.

  • MOD form 760 and 765 raised and submitted, as necessary.


  • This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Cranwell.

  • Experience of Parachute maintenance and packing.

  • Experience of Life Raft maintenance and packing

  • Q-SE-AC or Q-AV-MED.


  • Qualifications for the Survival Equipment Technician:
  • RAF Survival Equipment Course or civilian equivalent.

  • Q-SE-AC or Q-AV-MED.

  • RAF Flying Clothing Maintenance and Fitting.


  • Security Clearance
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
