Support Worker - Osgodby Nr Market Rasen - Learning Disabilities

Autism Care UK part of the LIFEWAYS GROUP are looking for:

FULL TIME & PART TIME SUPPORT WORKERS - Full Time 35 Hours for our service based in the village of Kirkby-cum-Osgodby Lincolnshire.

Would you like to join the support team to work with an incredible young man?

The job will be to support and advance his life skills which will include taking care of his home both inside and out. This will involve teaching and advancing his skills in general housekeeping, healthy eating, maintenance and decorating of his home and garden.

Helping him to take pride in his home and neighbourhood.

Support him when out and about in the community and to enjoy all that life has to offer in partaking in short walks and longer hikes in the countryside, cycling swimming, climbing wall, trampolining and many more, many of these activities are a need required to help regulate his body.

This young man has an energy and a zest for life and looking for like-minded candidates to join his team.

He has been assisted in setting up a "not for profit" enterprise and the candidate will need to support him in the making and marketing of his goods. If the candidate has any hobbies or interests to bring to the table in this field it would be most advantageous, as he has a hunger to learn and advance his present skills and thrives on joint activities with his team.

Computer knowledge would also be an asset.

He is unable to communicate using the spoken word but wishes to be involved in conversations and enjoys being read to, both fiction and non-fiction, watching documentaries, playing games, photography and art, the list is endless.

He is intelligent and understands everything and hears everything.

He used a method of communication called RPM (Rapid Prompting Method) which when trained and relationship is forged he is able to point to letters on a board to form words. He has opinions and thoughts on many things.

His family are involved with him and he thrives on having his family and friends around.

We are looking for a Support Worker with at least one years support experience.

You will additionally need to be active and enjoy outdoor activities such as walking and rambling.
