Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Support, Time & Recovery Worker (STR Worker) within Redbridge Mental Health and Wellness Team - South.
This is an exciting time to join the team. NELFT has recently launched the mental health transformation programme. In February 2023 Redbridge completed the final stage of mental health transformation to become 3 Mental Health and Wellness Teams. Our integrated teams provide assessment, brief intervention, and recovery services to clients in Redbridge.
The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, STR workers, Peer support workers, employment advisor, and Psychologists.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible individual with a passion for supporting service users with mental health conditions on their recovery journey. As a team, we embrace and promote the Recovery Model and Open Dialogue approach and expect our staff to work within these models, working with Service Users within their homes, the wider community, and clinical settings.
Support, Time & Recovery Workers have a key role to play within the team, supporting clients in their mental health journey and recovery and social inclusion., The teams operational working hours is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm although some flexibility may be needed, and a car driver would be desirable but not essential for the role.
Quality Improvement is promoted and there are opportunities for participating in service development projects.
MHWT-South support people aged 18 and over with mental health needs such as: anxiety, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, and personality disorders.
The successful applicant should, High-Cost Area Supplement This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436) pro rata for part time staff.

The main responsibilities of the post include:
+ Visiting Service Users and, in conjunction with other qualified colleagues, devise and implement effective individualised programs of support.
+ Working independently as required and provide support with daily living to empower people to live independent lives.
+ Supporting service users to identify early signs of mental health relapse and alert appropriate staff involved in the person's care.
+ Working in isolated situations with Service Users who may be vulnerable or at risk.
+ Establishing supportive and empowering relationships with the Service User and their carers.
+ As identified in the support plan, enable the Service User to maintain own personal care needs.
+ Monitoring and reporting any changes, both positive and negative, within the Service Users life to the Team and at other relevant times.
+ Supporting Service Users to gain access to resources to include benefits, welfare rights and health promotion.
+ Ensuring that the Service User understands who to contact within the different agencies involved in the support plan.
+ To take appropriate courses of action in an emergency.

Be able to evidence good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
Have relevant experience in mental health services where a degree of autonomous working has been required.
Demonstrate a knowledge of an understanding of the need to use an enabling approach.
Be able to demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative, have good time management skills and be able to prioritise workload effectively.
Be able to demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills especially when handling conflict and change and should have the appropriate skills to facilitate the resolution of difficulties.
The post can be emotionally demanding, and the applicant will be expected to be able to address and explore this within supervision, team meetings and also within informal work-related support systems.
