Full Job Description

Due to the continued success of the business both in established and new market places, HCI Systems are looking to recruit a Supply Chain Manager to join our team. This is a new role within our organisation and we are looking for a candidate ready to take the next step in their career and create an impact within a smaller organisation.

The Supply Chain Manager will play a critical role in optimising our supply chain processes to ensure efficient procurement, inventory management, and material processing. Responsible for all supply chain activities within the business, including process definition, implementation, and reporting, ultimately contributing to the success and growth of our business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement Management:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services.

  • Identify reliable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favourable terms and pricing.

  • Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.


  • Inventory and Stores Management:
  • Oversee the management of inventory levels to optimise working capital while ensuring adequate stock availability to meet production demands.

  • Implement inventory control procedures, including accurate forecasting, stock replenishment, and cycle counting.

  • Manage the storage and organisation of materials in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices.


  • Kitting Operations:
  • Coordinate kitting activities to prepare materials and components for production orders according to schedule requirements, optimising work-in-progress levels to suit business targets.

  • Streamline kitting processes to minimise lead times, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure timely delivery of kitted materials to manufacturing.


  • Material Processing:
  • Oversee material processing activities, including length cutting, cable end preparation, and label printing, to meet quality standards and production specifications.

  • Optimise material processing workflows to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimise defects.

  • Implement quality control measures and performance metrics to monitor material processing performance and drive continuous improvement.


  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor supply chain team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Lead daily supply chain briefings, organising collaboration and communication across departments to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives and priorities.


  • Maintain proper documentation of all supply chain processes, work-flows and system/procedures to foster knowledge sharing and increase process visibility.

    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management and or experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar SME setting.

  • Good understanding of procurement processes, inventory management principles, and material processing techniques.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software, ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams, build relationships, and drive results.

  • Solid organizational and project management abilities with a focus on prioritisation, planning, and execution.
