Full Job Description

This role involves partnering with internal teams and developing relationships with suppliers to enhance our supplier partnerships. The position aims to drive improvements in both commercial and operational performance through strategic engagement with key suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in impacting and influencing senior-level stakeholders (Head of, Director, etc.) and managing supplier performance through joint business planning, trading, and negotiation.

This dynamic role includes identifying and leading profit-enhancing initiatives, organizing and running supplier events, negotiating legal terms and conditions, working with developers on tech solutions, and engaging with third-party partners.   • Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple internal teams, including trading, supply chain, fulfilment, marketing, digital, tech, ESG, technical, and operations.

  • Develop direct relationships with Holland & Barrett suppliers and strengthen relationships across the business.

  • Partner with the Commercial Trading Director, Operations & Planning Director, Head of Categories, and their teams to optimise supplier performance across key financial, operational, and customer metrics.

  • Support the Trading teams in developing supplier strategies, focusing our supply base, curating ranges, and aligning supplier selections to customer missions.

  • Enhance supplier relationships, as measured through the 'advantage survey', and support commercial teams in unlocking access to meaningful customer-driven innovation and exclusive opportunities for Holland & Barrett.

  • Collaborate with the Senior SRM to develop and implement strategic supplier performance management frameworks.

  • Work with the Commercial Reporting Analyst to develop, manage, and implement various supplier dashboards and tools, such as cost price trackers, supplier profitability dashboards, commercial terms optimisation, period-end reviews, EPOS subscriptions, etc.

  • Provide insights to commercial teams to identify supplier opportunities that drive cost reductions and profit enhancements.

  • Achieve COGS reduction targets by identifying cost reduction opportunities, such as commodity price movements and enabling end-to-end supply chain efficiency.

  • Support the category team in negotiating and standardizing supplier commercial terms, specifically related to our Supplier Manual and trading terms and conditions.

  • Facilitate working capital benefits through the standardisation of supplier payment terms.

  • Support the Vendor Portal Manager in creating new supplier-facing technology, such as EPOS data packages, fixed marketing booking tools, supplier onboarding, etc.

  • Assist in onboarding new suppliers into Holland & Barrett, guiding them through the Vendor Portal onboarding process, completing demos of the platform etc

  • Track fixed supplier income roll-ups and present them to category teams and senior stakeholders. Expand supplier investment opportunities (fixed funding, margin support, etc.) across the omnichannel landscape.

  • Collaborate with the wider SRM team and Events team to plan, organise, and run supplier events, including virtual webinars, roundtable sessions, large supplier forums, and exhibitions.

  • Facilitate the upskilling of commercial colleagues through in-flight coaching and training workshops, promoting best practices in supplier management across the organisation.


  • Location:

  • We have bases in Nuneaton, London and Burton. Colleagues are expected to spend at least 2 days a week in the Nuneaton office.

  • There may also be occasional travel required to visit stores, our Burton fulfilment centre, supplier visits or our London office.

  • We 2-3 supplier events a year where this individual will be required to stay overnight on site for 2-3 days.

    Strengthening our supplier relationships is key to our plans, and we are seeking an individual with proven experience in developing supplier relationships and influencing internal stakeholders at all levels. Retail experience is preferred, with strong communication skills and commercial acumen being essential., Proven success in developing and managing supplier relationships, ideally in retail, with experience in commercial roles or project management.

  • Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders and recommending strategic changes.

  • Expertise in joint business planning, trading, negotiation, and improving supplier performance.

  • Strong commercial understanding, able to analyze P&Ls and drive profit-enhancing opportunities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident in presentations.

  • Energetic, adaptable, collaborative, and innovative in enhancing supplier relationships and driving business growt
