Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Research Administrator to join the Bristol Technology Assessment Group (Bristol TAG).

Bristol TAG is one of several groups contracted by the NIHR to conduct independent reviews of healthcare technologies, to support the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance committees and other policy makers.

The Bristol TAG Senior Research Administrator will provide effective day-to-day management and support the Co-Directors to ensure the efficient and effective operation of Bristol TAG.

What will you be doing?

The post holder will have a key role in organising Bristol TAG and supporting the Bristol TAG Co-Directors. The person appointed will also take on general administrative duties in the areas of office management, recruitment, finance, and arranging travel to NICE meetings and conference attendance for members of the Bristol TAG.

They will be required to:

  • Develop and maintain standard templates for the different types of report required by NICE and other commissioners

  • Establish processes for managing and tracking workflow for the different types of NICE appraisal that will be undertaken by Bristol TAG

  • Maintain accurate financial records and audit trails, using appropriate methods and University systems.

  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other members of the Bristol TAG

    You have substantial administrative experience gained through working in busy and demanding environments.

  • You have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, email, web content management systems, reference management software (e.g. Endnote) and general office systems.

  • You are able to work flexibly and take initiative - ability to prioritise own work, and manage changing priorities as part of a diverse, busy workload

  • You can work under pressure, produce accurate work to deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.
