Full Job Description

  • Day to day responsibility for the running of multiple contracts with the warehouse facility

  • Provide line management to the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers

  • Monitoring any issues and ensuring targets, KPIs, and quality standards are achieved, in order to meet the requirements of the customer

  • Enforce warehouse Health and Safety compliance

  • Enforce warehouse Group Audit compliance covering Healthcare Quality and Operations

  • Manage each Contract to budget in line with forecast

  • Manage warehouse reports daily, investigate reasons for variances and to instigate corrective action where necessary

  • Plan effectively for flexing of resources to account for fluctuations and seasonality

  • Proactively manage recruitment of temps, temporary to permanent and permanent employees

  • Ensure all absence and retention of staff is managed per shift

  • Coach and mentor staff, giving regular formal and informal feedback

  • Ensure a high level of compliance to WMS processes

  • Deal with all warehouse disciplinary issues in line with company policy

  • Communicate appropriately with the warehouse team to keep them up to date with business plans and performance

  • Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse


  • People Management
  • Coach, manage and develop warehouse Team leaders to optimize performance and meet targets and deadlines

  • Ensure communication with warehouse staff is daily to make them aware of priorities, targets and operational requirements

  • Ensure all warehouse and distribution policies and procedures are followed

  • Set objectives/KPIs and review and assess on-going performance of direct reports and wider team
