Full Job Description

Watlington Health Ltd is looking to welcome a qualified and experienced superintendent pharmacist into our busy practice, to play a full and active role within our multi-disciplinary team. The role is offered on a full time basis for 40 hours per week, working shifts between 06.45 & 18.30, but job share will also be considered.
The main duties include:

  • Ensuring the safe, efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of the pharmacy services, in accordance with national and local standards

  • Developing a high quality and timely outpatient service for patients.

  • Fulfilling the statutory responsibilities as required by the GPhC.

  • Providing efficient management and administration of the business.

  • Holding accountability for the ordering and management of all medicines within the pharmacy.

  • Dispensing prescription medicines to the public.

  • Liaising with doctors about the prescriptions - on site liaison and daily meeting with doctors.

  • Counselling and advising public on the treatment of minor ailments.

  • Advising patients of any adverse side effects of medicines or potential interaction with other medicines / treatments.

  • Undertaking medicines use reviews (MUR), and advanced services to help patients understand how their medicines work and why they have to take them.

    You will be a qualified pharmacist with strong experience within primary care and have the following skills and qualifications:

  • GPhC registered pharmacist

  • Good knowledge of pharmacology and ability to analyse data and respond appropriately accordingly.

  • Ability to handle work pressure with tact.

  • Good interpersonal communication skills.

  • Adheres to standards and procedures, maintains confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritise, attention to detail and cope under pressure.

  • Good time keeping.

  • Ability to support the team with work flow.

  • Provide leadership for the staff alongside the dispensary manager.
