Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to the post of Student Support Hub Transition Leader / HLTA, working 34 hours per week (term time plus 5 days).

This is a unique post for a teacher or HLTA with experience with Key Stage 2 and/or SEND / Alternative Provision, to work within a Secondary School to support students with transition from Key Stage 2 to 3, as well as longer term support for those students with additional needs across other Year groups who require bespoke intervention for parts of their timetable or occasional SEND step-out from timetabled curricular lessons. This post is suitable for an individual with QTS, or significant experience leading groups as a HLTA.

The core function of the post is to provide nurturing and supportive intervention teaching and support in our Student Support Hub to students who enter the school who are not 'secondary ready', and/or to support students with SEND in other Year groups who struggle to consistently access a full mainstream academic timetable as they continue through to Key Stage 4.

In addition, the successful candidate will also assist the SENCO in leading targeted and personalised interventions for students with SEND. This will include the planning, coordination and delivery of small group SEND interventions.

The appointment to this key role is critical to the current and future success of the school and as such this appointment is of immense importance to us as a team and as a school.

If you are interested in applying to take on an important role, and to help us to continue our drive for further success as a school, then I would be pleased to receive an application from you.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Monday, 10th June 2024, although the school reserves the right to close the deadline sooner dependent upon applications.

The successful applicant's appointment will be subject to satisfactory clearance by the DBS.
