Student Services are made up of many different specialist teams and we pride ourselves on giving all students the support they might need including support with their transition into university, wellbeing, help with managing their money, preparing for work, study skills and much more.
In this role the Student Experience team within Student & Library Services are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills who also understands the importance of promoting engagement and community building. You'll have experience of supervising volunteers or colleagues with skills in training, coaching and mentoring. Our student support is provided in person, by telephone and online via email or chat so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are really important as is having a sound judgement when dealing with confidential information. You'll have a positive can-do approach and be self-motivated, flexible and innovative when taking on new projects. Having the confidence to liaise with a range of people and talk/present in front of colleagues and students is a must for this role.

Having obtained a degree, you'll be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office. You'll also have the ability to learn new software packages with confidence in maintaining records and analysing data and trends. Your working week will be 18.5 hours and there is some flexibility as to how these hours are put into practice in a working week. There is also the option to combine home working with working on our campuses.
It is expected that interviews will take place on 27 June 2024
When on campus the successful candidate with be based primarily in Writtle but will be expected to travel to our Chelmsford campus when required.
