Full Job Description

Job Summary: To support Beazley's growth and to drive change across the company by developing, managing, supporting and being responsible for a portfolio of cross-functional strategic projects that drive the business strategy forward and build up the skills of the company around project delivery and around maximising the business value from project investments,

  • Understand Beazley's mid and long term strategy and therefore the context for the strategic projects to be delivered, and support the Head of Strategic Projects in continually iterating a portfolio of projects that supports the delivery of this strategy

  • Deliver projects across their full lifecycle, including working with the project sponsor / business owner to delivery pre-defined benefits -

  • + Understand business need, identify delivery, monitor progress and ensure the business adapts to capture business value
    + Specific tasks include:
    o Driving delivery of a portfolio of projects
    o Initial idea refinement with the Corporate Strategy Team (per Medium Term Plan)
    o Understanding the stakeholders and building business cases and plans
    o Identifying the resources required to do the work
    o Managing time lines and budgets where appropriate
    o Being the single point of contact for specific projects
    o Developing a plan to ensure delivery of benefit
    o Monitoring and supporting the capture of these benefits by the business
    o Handing over to IT where appropriate, and working with the IT department if there is an IT element
    + Review and challenge project progress along with the Head of Strategy Projects and raise red flags to appropriate leadership groups when necessary
    + Report the status of controls and escalate significant control failings/weaknesses or events that may arise
    + Check developed solutions match requirements and customer expectation prior to delivery
  • Be an active member of the Corporate Strategy team working with Incubation, Responsible Business and Corporate Development sub teams to support project management in these functions as capacity permits

  • Partner with the business on topics of growth, performance improvement, efficiency, etc to develop business case for projects as required

  • Work with Beazley Shared Services, Finance and other support functions as well as the business units, through one-on-one mentoring and cross-function initiatives, develop their project management, problem solving, execution and communications skills to increase Beazley's return on project investment

  • Work with the Head of Strategy Projects to refine the project methodology, Strategic Projects OKRs, and delivery within a continuously improving framework

  • Work with Beazley PMO to support the implementation of the Value Realisation Framework and participate in the prioritisation/triage process for any new projects (even those outside of Strategy Projects) requiring resourcing

This may include, amongst others, Beazley's underwriting control standards, Beazley's claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
