Full Job Description

Are you a talented, caring, enthusiastic staff nurse seeking a new role? Our Cancer Specialist & Clinical Support Services team have a vacancy within the Private Patients Outpatient Team at Scarborough Hospital.
The post holder should be enthusiastic and a committed professional with the passion and drive to provide the highest quality care to their patients. We work very closely with our medical team and all health care professionals, and this is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is dynamic, friendly and who strives to provide an excellent standard of care.
Previous experience would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
The post involves working in outpatients Mon & Thurs on a late afternoon/evenings twice a week, with the potential need to be flexible in covering services on both sites, SGH & BDH when required.

Main duties of the job
Private Patients deliver specialties such as Ophthalmology, ENT, Cardiology & Orthopedics.

+ Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
+ Support Private Patient clinicians with service delivery.
+ Maintain a safe and clean working environment
+ Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
+ Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
+ Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
+ Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
+ Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
+ Maintain Education and Training requirements, + Refer a Friend - You will receive a £250 payment if you refer a nurse to us who subsequently takes up employment in our Trust (paid after the new starter completes 4-months in post
Pre-registrants Preceptorship

Preceptorship lasts 12 months and you will be assigned a preceptee who will support coach, mentor and guide you through regular meetings, along side a programme of structured learning

DBS Checks
Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £22.68 for a standard check and £42.68 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
