Full Job Description

This post provides training towards in line with the curriculum for specialist certification in Cardiology (including the mandatory elements of General Internal Medicine). Training occurs at Hammersmith Hospital (particularly procedural training) and Charing Cross and St Mary's Hospitals (particularly acute and in-patient training, with several aspects (such as imaging) taught across all sites. Trainees achieving sufficient clinical progress will be eligible for 20% research time to develop a funding proposal towards a PhD, with guidance from one of our world-leading cardiologists (chosen by the trainee)., The Fellow will initially divide their time between training in echocardiography (10%), angiography (10%), electrophysiology/devices procedures (5%), acute cardiology care (40%), chronic cardiology care (15%) and general internal medicine (20%). As the Fellow progresses, this distribution will change toa accommodate their training needs and their subspeciality interest. Each year, if the clinical progress meets expectations, the trainee will receive up to 20% dedicated research time to develop/revise/resubmit prestigious externally funded PhD proposals
