Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sports & Inclusion Worker to join our team. As a Sports & Inclusion Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting inclusivity and providing sports coaching and mentoring to individuals of all abilities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through sports and education.
As a Sports & Inclusion Worker, you will be responsible for the lead delivery of high quality and engaging sessions to children of varying ages and abilities developing interpersonal skills within children & young people as well as increasing youth participation whilst ensuring our participants develop in a safe and nurturing environment.
Communication and active listening skills will be vital for regular interaction with participants, staff, parents, and external representatives whilst representing the Club in a professional manner at all times.
Youth & Integration:
- To lead on and support delivery of Youth & Integration projects including Premier League Kicks & Premier League Targeted, Holiday Activity & Food and Youth-based projects, delivering innovative initiatives and engaging activities.
- Having a set case load of referrals at any one time, set by the Youth & Integration Manager. Attending referral meetings and delivery engaging 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions, based on the needs of and outcomes of the mentee.
- Supporting cross-departmental projects, including the Participation team and Health team, supporting on initiatives and activities, whilst highlighting & showcasing the work Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme are delivering.
- Meeting targets and KPI's set by manager.
- To deliver football, multi-sports, youth, and mentoring intervention sessions appropriate to the age and ability of the participants.
- To deliver a high-quality provision and mentoring within school settings where required.
- To produce and evaluate session plans for all activities.
- To be organized, planned, and prepared for activities to commence.
- To undertake dynamic risk assessments.
- To adhere to SWFC safeguarding policies and safeguarding working practices at all times.
- Ensure Safeguarding concerns are raised and reported to the Community Safeguarding Leads or the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
- To ensure that all SWFCCP equipment is in good working order and assembled properly - to report to the Community Programme any equipment that needs attention.
- To ensure that the SWFCCP`s Codes of Conduct are adhered to at all times.
- To keep up to date with registers and consent forms for all activities.
- Keep up to date with all administrative and project linked work, tasks and KPI's.
- Registration forms collected and processed in line with SWFCCP data protection policy.
- To attend training courses continuing professional development as required.
- To adhere to National Governing Body (FA) guidelines.
- To adhere to all SWFC policies and procedures.
- To promote and support a diverse culture where everyone is treated fairly.
- To always represent SWFC in a professional manner.
- Any other task which is deemed necessary by SWFCCP as it continuously grows.
(essential) - Relevant minimum level 2 qualification including either: - Level 1+ in other sports (desirable).
- AFPE Level 3 (desirable).
- FA Youth Modules (desirable).
- FA Safeguarding Training (essential - can be completed upon appointment)
- Enhanced DBS check
- FA First Aid or relevant, Experience in coaching football and or multi-sports related sessions.
- Experience of working with a variety of age groups.
- Delivery in a classroom environment.
- Good communication and organization skills.
- Confident & professional manner.
- Flexible approach.
- Positive and engaging attitude.
- Designing and developing schemes of work to a high standard., Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
37 hours, over 7 days. As is expected with this post, there will be regular match days, weekends & unsocial hours as part of a regular working pattern. - Bereavement leave
