Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sheffield Stroke Speech & Language Therapy team as a Speech & Language therapy assistant within the Community Stroke Service (3 days per week, car driver required)
The successful candidate will assist the Speech & Language Therapist/s in providing therapy to a defined population of adults with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing difficulties., Your input will provide cover to patients across the stroke pathway but primarily you will provide cover in the Community Stroke Service. You will work under the direction of a Speech and Language Therapist and will be involved in communication therapy programmes, swallowing therapy programmes, multidisciplinary team working, staff and carer training, as well as having general duties within the team.

The SLT service across both the acute and community teams in STH has approximately 55 staff (47 therapists, 7 assistants and 4 secretarial staff) (41.23wte).
