A great opportunity to work in a dynamic Safeguarding team within the NELFT Corporate Directorate
The successful applicant will be required to support the Named Professionals for Safeguarding Adults in delivering and embedding local implementations and national safeguarding strategies into practice. This includes providing evidence-based specialist advice and support to NELFT front-line practitioners, senior leads, corporate and operational services. You will also be required to support review of NELFT policies, participate in safeguarding meetings and working with our external partners within the multi-agency safeguarding remit. The successful applicant will also work alongside our NELFT safeguarding children's team to embed the 'Think Family' agenda across adults and children's services in NELFT.
The post will be based at Sunflowers Court, Goodmayes, under the Acute and Rehab Directorate covering both frailty and mental health. The applicant will be expected to work on the duty desk as required which is based in Basildon. The applicant may be required to work across other areas of the NELFT footprint when a need of service has been identified or to cover other members of the team.
The post requires the applicant to be a registered professional, i.e. nurse, therapist, social worker etc and be able to clearly demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding in practice and have a commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice., 1. To provide specialist evidence-based and individualised safeguarding advice and support to staff at all levels of the Trust.
2. To deliver training to a range of staff on Safeguarding Adults, the Care Act (2014) Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards, Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Exploitation and Prevent (the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act - 2015).
3. To work across staff groups internally via a range of modes to embed the Safeguarding Adults strategy, including facilitating safeguarding events, Link Practitioners forums and Safeguarding Adults supervision via the Reflective Model.
4. To build relationships across organisational boundaries to further promote the well-being of adults who have care and support needs.
5. To collect, collate and present activity data and audits to accurately enable senior staff to be assured of the NELFT safeguarding adults position.
6. To take forward the Think Family agenda ensuring transitions, domestic abuse (and violence) and harmful practices are incorporated into the knowledge base of NELFT staff.
7. To represent the NELFT Safeguarding Adults Team at a range of internal meetings and to represent NELFT externally at meetings with partner agencies in connection with the Safeguarding Adults function., NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,314 to a maximum of £5,436)
