Full Job Description

An opportunity to join our dedicated and passionate Staff Team in one of the largest secondary schools in Bristol.

The Specialist Centre is a provision for up to 45 students who all have an EHCP. Students have a neuro-divergent profile and can access an age-appropriate mainstream curriculum delivered using proven ASD strategies whilst also supporting their sensory and emotional needs. Our students' academic abilities currently range from Entry Level to higher level GCSE. We are situated on a mainstream site to be able to access mainstream lessons where applicable, but have our own classrooms and space, where the majority of the students are educated in classes with a teacher and at least one Teaching Assistant.

Our students are supported by a highly qualified and committed team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants, who work closely with parent/carers, ensuring high quality learning outcomes for all. All of our teachers have access to support from National Lead Practitioners within the OCL Trust and deliver lessons that have been planned in line with great pedagogy, to ensure our students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to stand first amongst equals.

We are currently seeking to appoint an exceptional Science Teacher to join our talented team, who will have a demonstrable ability to nurture and support these students. The successful candidate will be able to teach Science and will have a passion for ensuring every child achieves their personal best.

We want to hear from you if you are interested in joining our team at this very exciting time as Oasis Academy Brislington embarks on the next phase of its journey where our staff work hard every day to make an impact on our young people. Our students are kind, funny and have a desire to achieve; for the right candidate our Academy is an incredibly rewarding place to work. All new staff have access to a high-quality coaching programme ensuring professional development is supportive and fully personalised.

The Academy is housed in an impressive £34.6 million PFI funded building which opened in 2008. The state-of-the-art facilities offer a modern, flexible, technology-rich environment for teaching and learning, making it one of the very best equipped schools in the country.

Oasis Academy Brislington is part of the Oasis Community Learning family, a multi-academy sponsor with the express purpose of transforming schools into community hubs, through applying a holistic view of education. As part of the Oasis network staff have access to a range of exciting career opportunities.

  • Access to an iPad for all staff / students enabling the use of Formative and other online self-marking assessment resources.

The opportunity to further your career within the Trust and region. There are also a range of National Lead Practitioner roles within the Trust which you may also have the opportunity to apply for.
