We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Schools Nurse who is looking to make a difference today!
You will support children and young people with complex health needs to access their education by training the school staff to carry out the health needs. The Special Schools Nursing network provides support to children and young people with complex health needs.
The nurses assess and identify any care needs that can be delegated to school staff by ensuring that the skill is risk assessed and school staff are trained, supervised and competent to deliver the care appropriate for the student within designated Special Schools.
This is a term-time only role that would suit an enthusiastic Special School Nurse ready to join our fantastic nursing team in West Kent. As we work as a network although you are based in a school there will be travel to other schools to support the teams across the network., As a Special Schools Nurse you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic care linked to packages of prescribed care or identified projects.
You will develop integrated care programmes in partnership with senior practitioners and/or commissioners and act as lead senior practitioner to support junior staff to carry out assessment/reassessments of service users and/or pathways with complex needs across the relevant field.
In addition, you will supporting and make recommendations to senior managers in order to prioritise and focus efforts to drive forward and achieve business objectives, service improvement strategies and statutory, One of the largest community NHS trusts in the UK, KCHFT are rated 'outstanding' by the CQC.
