Full Job Description

One of Exeter's market-leading firms are looking for a Real Estate or Commercial Property Solicitor to join their team, either to be based in Exeter or Bristol. This is a great opportunity either for someone who has already gained qualified experience within a Commercial Property team and is ideally at the 2-4 PQE level, although there some flexibility on this. The firm acts for a number of private and public sector clients, with this particular team having specialisms across residential development and the private wealth sector, the energy sector, charities, higher education institutions, healthcare, ecclesiastical, agriculture, retail and sporting facilities and leisure.

The firm takes a flexible, agile approach to working patterns. As a team they agree together on the best working arrangements that will enable each of the team to provide exceptional client service, to collaborate and connect with colleagues, and to achieve the right home/work balance. Most people in the team choose to work 1 - 3 days a week in one of their offices, with the balance of time working from home. They pride ourselves on our high-performance culture whilst offering a good work/life balance.

The responsibilities within this role:

  • Residential development acquisitions and disposals, acting for developers and landowners

  • Disposals and acquisitions of affordable housing, acting for developers and registered providers

  • Provision of support in relation to promotion agreement transactions and options in respect of land with longer term development potential

  • A wide range of aspects linked to development work including overage arrangements, title due diligence, conditional contracts, easements, and tenancies

Ideally 2-4 PQE within Real Estate law

  • Experience of working in a commercial real estate practice, ideally with a focus on experience gained in the residential development sector or a clear interest to develop experience in that sector

  • A genuine interest in promoting business development opportunities.
