Full Job Description

  • Review, advise and deal with all legal and regulatory projects, cases,matters, etc. for the Group and external clients;

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage and advise on a wide range of contracts for the Group and external clients, including BP agreements, Terms of Business, NDAs, services agreements, outsource agreement, technology contracts, intra-group agreement, engagement letters, marketing agreements and other agreement as required;

  • Draft, amend and keep up to date essential documentation, e.g. client onboarding documents, policies, procedures, manuals, handbook, regulatory reports, etc.;

  • Oversee the work of the legal and compliance team;

  • Develop trainee solicitor programme, manage and supervise trainees;

  • help clients to identify and mitigate any legal/regulatory risks that clients may expose to;

  • help the clients to ensure compliance by adhering to all applicable domestic and international laws, regulations and relevant requirements;

  • Deal with external parties, including but not limited to regulators,external counsel, auditors, partners and contractors, etc.;

  • Ad-hoc support on any new tasks assigned from time to time.

    6+ years' work experience in relation to UK financial services industry, e.g. asset management, securities brokerage, FX/CFD, Crypto;

  • Additional experience from one or more of the following areas would also be beneficial but not essential - commercial, GDPR, employment etc.;

  • In-depth knowledge of the UK/EU legislation and regulations;

  • Strong and sustained motivation to research new areas of practice;

  • A proactive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and resilient;

  • Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills;

  • Effective planning, following up and multitasking;

  • Great attention to detail;

  • Good level of Microsoft Office skills;

  • Strong academic record.


  • Desirable:

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, 5+ years of PQE;

  • International experience/multi-country experience;

  • Knowledge of the middle east and offshore jurisdictions' legislation and regulations;

  • Additional foreign language skills would be an advantage.

    The position is available in a consultancy company (the Company) based in Canary Wharf, London, as part of a group of small-mid size global companies (the Group) which are engaged in regulatory compliance, fintech and brokerage businesses. The Group is looking to strengthen its legal and compliance consultant team and is keen to engage with an experienced professional.
