Gloucestershire Health and Care delivers Community Health and Social care services for adults and children across the county.As our Social Care lead you will oversee the day to day delivery of comprehensive social care provision as part of our Integrated Adult Mental Health Services.

You will provide professional leadership and senior operational management and have direct responsibility for ensuring the delivery of high-quality standards and specialist expertise in the field of Social Care.You will be the primary interface with the Local Authority in the delivery of social care policy.

Our Community Mental Health services are on the brink of a comprehensive transformation programme with 3 clear aims for which you will take a key leading role:

  • Aligning existing community teams to Gloucestershire Integrated Locality Partnership

  • To review and transform the current service model

  • Realise the opportunities of bringing Physical & Mental Health Teams together


  • As such you will need to describe a clear vision for how you see community mental health teams developing and your role in leading this.As a proven leader you will have a strong background in community health/social care and will bring to this role a commitment to personalised care, promoting good health and an always improving focus on quality & innovation,
  • To provide professional leadership, within the remit set by the Director of Quality & Performance, for the social care staff of the Trust, enabling services to reflect the needs of users and carers and grow towards the vision of integration set out by GHC and by Joint Commissioners.

  • To provide operational leadership with direct accountability to the Service Directorcontributing to the promotion of a positive, strong and integrated MH Social Work Service within the Trust, maintaining the culture of social care practice within the Trust's multi disciplinary setting.

  • To effectively and efficiently manage budgets allocated and monitor the budget management performance of Social Care Specialists / Social Care Hub Manager

  • To maintain regular liaison with Community Service Managers and Social Work staff to ensure effective partnership working and joint use of resources.

  • To develop social care practice policies and ensure compliance with them.
