Full Job Description

The Skills & Training Coordinator plays a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating training programs at CREST. This position is essential for the effective delivery of educational initiatives designed for minoritised and disadvantaged BAME adults and young people. Reporting to the CEO, the Skills & Training Coordinator will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of training activities, aligning them with CREST's mission to empower and uplift marginalised communities., Training Program Coordination

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs.

- Develop comprehensive training programs that align with organisational goals.

Training Delivery

- Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions, workshops, and seminars.

- Employ diverse methodologies to enhance participant learning and retention.

Participant Engagement

- Build rapport with participants, providing guidance and support.

- Foster a positive and conducive learning environment.

Resource Management

- Manage training resources including materials, equipment, and facilities.

- Ensure resources are accessible, well-maintained, and effectively utilised.

Evaluation and Improvement

- Conduct regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs.

- Implement improvements based on feedback to enhance impact and outcomes.

Reporting

- Prepare comprehensive reports on training activities, outcomes, and participant feedback.

- Present findings to the CEO and relevant stakeholders to inform decision-making.

Compliance

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organisational policies.

Team Collaboration

- Work with internal teams, including administrative staff, to integrate training initiatives into broader organisational strategies.

Continuous Learning

- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in training and development.

- Incorporate new knowledge into CREST's training programs to maintain relevance and effectiveness.

Accreditation Efforts

- Collaborate with the CEO and SEO to achieve and maintain accreditation.

- Work with relevant accreditation bodies to enable CREST to obtain and retain accreditation.

Health and Safety

Maintain safe and clean conditions during training sessions, adhere to health and safety protocols, and assist in risk assessments and mitigation efforts as required.

Participate in staff development programs, identifying and pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Conduct staff training and supervise relevant roles.

Commitment to Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups

Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures, promoting the welfare of vulnerable groups, including children, young people, and adults.

Communication and Working Relationships

Liaise with internal stakeholders, including administrative staff, the CEO, and SEO, as well as external partners, trainers, and training providers to ensure effective coordination and delivery of training programs.

Effective organisation and workload management.

- Proficiency in using technology for audio-visual presentations.

- Proficient in MS Office packages.

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

- Good understanding of computer-aided advice and guidance resources.

- Ability to use initiative and work autonomously.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse audiences.

- Highly motivated team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Adaptability to changing requirements.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent level 2 qualification, including Maths and English.

- Level 2/3 qualification in business or IT-related subject, or willingness to work towards one.

- Level 3/4 in Training and Education.

- CET, AET, and DET qualifications in that order.

Experience

- Experience working with young people aged 16-19 and adults in an IAG environment.

- Demonstrated experience in delivering group and one-on-one training sessions.

- Experience in assessment and auditing procedures.

- Experience in planning, teaching, and evaluating learning programs.

- Desirable: Previous work experience in an FE IAG setting, familiarity with Matrix quality standards and Gatsby benchmarks, knowledge of student financial support packages.
