About the Opportunity:

Jacobs are looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Site Setting Out Engineer to join a multidisciplinary project delivery team who are working on construction projects on regulated sites near Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in high level projects with some of Jacobs' most lucrative and exciting clients and be at the forefront of offering solutions that contribute to Jacobs' global strategy of an integrated, connected, and sustainable world.

Successful candidates will work closely with the team's Construction Managers and Sub-Contractors to assist in the preparation and setting out of construction sites and projects. Candidates should have experience in the following:

  • Use of all modern setting out & surveying equipment;

  • Setting out positions and levels for all aspects of construction;

  • Working with site plans, architectural/structural/civils drawings, and information models;

  • Surveying;

  • Overseeing site quality control;

  • Monitoring health and safety on site;

  • Contributing to a site diary when required;

  • Resolving technical problems in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.


  • Here's what you'll need:
  • Experience in the construction of commercial buildings and offices;

  • Experience of establishing site setting-out control points, drainage, foundations, superstructure, fit-out elements;

  • Discipline relevant degree or NVQ qualification;

  • Chartership to CIOB preferred;

  • Relevant to discipline CSCS card;

  • Experience in the Nuclear and Defence sector;

  • Ability to obtain minimum SC clearance;

  • UK Driving License and Ability to Work in the UK.
