Full Job Description

To provide efficient and effective caretaking support to the school including ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards set by the school and that heating systems operate at optimum efficiency.

  • Portland School is a specialist provision for children and young people who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school caters for pupils aged 5 to 16 across two sites, the primary provision is based in Trent Vale and secondary provision in Blythe Bridge.

    Our Special settings cater for children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs from children with profound medical needs and life limiting conditions, those with severe, moderate and sensory needs through to young people with social emotional and mental health needs that require support and understanding to help them to navigate their world.

    Portland School is a specialist provision for children and young people who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school caters for pupils aged 5 to 16 across two sites; Trent Vale and Blythe Bridge. At Trent Vale we welcome pupils who internalise their emotions more and some of whom have additional diagnosis or need, including ASD, Cognition & Learning or Communication & Interaction. At Blythe Bridge, we support pupils who externalise their emotions and require a more hands-on approach to learning.

    We are seeking to employ an experienced and highly professional Site and Premises Technician, to work alongside a supportive, dedicated and enthusiastic staff team who are committed to delivering the best outcomes for our pupils. This person will be initially based at our Trent Vale site, however, there will be a requirement to work across sites, as needed. This could be to assist with opening or closing one of our sites, or to assist staff at our other site with repair work or 2-man jobs.
