The experts within Professional Services help customers architect, deploy, integrate, and operationalize solutions across the VMware by Broadcom portfolio.
Professional Services work with customers to understand their desired outcomes and assess current state capabilities, competencies, and culture. Working with colleagues in Product Sales, Services Solution Architects define the target state and perform a gap analysis. We identify the activities and timelines needed to achieve the target state and translate them into a visual roadmap. This allows customers to communicate their strategy quickly and easily to stakeholders and business leaders.

As a Services Solution Architect, no two days will be the same! You will interact externally with customers from different lines of business across a variety of industries with a multitude of different requirements. Internally you will work with colleagues across the business from salespeople to delivery experts to highly skilled engineers and your peers. Your creativity coupled with your active listening and analytical skills will be key to positioning and selling the best services solutions to provide desired business outcomes and maximum value for our customers.
Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes in the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
The primary objective of a Services Solution Architect (SSA) is to support Broadcom VMware's sales activities by engaging with customers at various levels, building trusted relationships and discovering customer needs that can be met by Broadcom VMware's comprehensive services. You will work to develop a package of Professional Services that help the customer to meet their objectives and to maximise the value of their investment.
As an SSA you will integrate with the EMEA Client Solution Architect community & learn how the Professional Services team operates to deliver high-quality and effective solutions for our customers. You will meet the wider Broadcom team, build relationships and start leveraging your knowledge and ideas in building solid approaches that will bring customers success.
What to expect when you join

• After 90 days you will function as a core member of the UK and Ireland Services Solution Architect (SSA) team, transitioning to become a trusted advisor internally to sales and delivery teams. You will create customer-facing deliverables describing services proposals and digital transformation roadmaps helping them achieve successful business outcomes.



• From this point onwards, you will aim to solidify your technical and soft skills via the learning platforms made available to you.



• You will also work closely with account teams in solving complex customer business problems by crafting outcomes-focused transformational designs, and adoption guides to existing customers, maximizing their VMware Cloud Foundation product and services return. During your career as a SSA, you will gain significant cross-industry experience and be expected to apply your problem-solving capabilities to drive successful business outcomes for our customers.


The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be promoting on a regular basis?

• You will be working directly with customers to actively listen, understand, challenge, and help to understand their business requirements.


• Mapping VMware Cloud Foundation services to the customer's desired business outcomes as part of a Broadcom team. You should be able to think beyond products and tailor end-to-end services solutions.


• You will be proposing services that not only deliver technology change but also take into consideration people and processes.


• You will present, communicate, and validate your proposed solutions to our account teams and our customers using presentations, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, proposals, etc.


• You will support sales teams in building commercial proposals by developing sound and quantifiable technical solutions and content


• You will ensure a smooth handover to our services delivery team providing alignment between sales and delivery to assure customer satisfaction.


• You will act as a key contributor to account strategy and planning and align this with business unit strategies.


• You will provide feedback to Professional Services Engineering regarding current service offerings along with generating new ideas for new offerings based on your knowledge from discussions with customers.


• You will take ownership of, or be an active contributor to initiatives and communities that help share knowledge and drive improvements across the professional services organisation.


• You will be supported in setting up and achieving personal development goals.


• You will be expected to travel an average of 30% of the time across UK and Ireland as the business requires., The UK PS technical presales team is newly formed subsequent to the Broadcom Acquisition of VMware and it is an exciting time to join as we shape the team to drive maximum value to the business and develop trusted relationships with our customers. It is a small and dynamic team ranging from former Delivery Architects and Consultants and Pre-Sales Engineers to recent university graduates. Our team is continuously working to improve how we support our customers with each team member bringing passion, innovation, and fresh thinking.

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware by Broadcom office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined by your manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable.

• Experience of leading large transformation projects so the candidate has an appreciation of the associated customer challenges, People, Process and Technology.


• A broad understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation platform, including the Private Cloud, Networking, Business Continuity, Migration techniques and Day 2 Operations/Automation.


• Experience with designing VMware Private Cloud datacenters and/or migrations for multiple complex customers is desirable


• An understanding of modern applications and associated platform requirements is desirable.


• Experience with designing native and /or VMware Cloud Hyperscaler solutions is desirable.


• Experience of working with senior customer stakeholders to discover and align to business goals and articulate value that can be derived from solutions.
