Full Job Description

As the Service Charge Accountant Team Lead you will lead a team of Service Charge Accountants to ensure high standards of quality and compliance with SLAs. Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional service charge management for The Crown Estate's assets while continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement to align with organisational objectives.,

  • Lead and mentor a team of Service Charge Accountants, ensuring the highest standards of quality and adherence to SLAs.

  • Efficiently allocate work within the team and serve as the point of contact for escalations and issue resolution.

  • Foster close working relationships with asset, property, and facilities managers, as well as management accountants, to integrate all matters impacting service charge management.

  • Oversee budget and reconciliation processes, including the production of templates and backup data.

  • Own and manage capping calculation and apportionment models, keeping them up to date with occupancy and building changes.

  • Conduct regular reviews of expenditure to ensure accuracy and completeness, including interim reconciliations.

  • Provide insights and performance reports for your portfolio to support property management strategy and governance.

    Experience in Service Charge Accountancy or advisory roles.

  • Excellent experience in managing operational teams to deliver measurable results.

  • Knowledge of property management systems such as MRI Horizon and reconciliation tools like Blackline preferred.

  • Familiarity with RICS SC Code & Professional Statement requirements and best practice processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, provide analytics and reporting, and drive process efficiency., Proven track record of managing teams and providing analytics and reporting.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

  • Ability to comprehend links between data fields, reporting, and financial outputs.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing development of best practices and process efficiency.
