Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Test Manager to join our QA team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, overseeing and enhancing the QA practices for one of our clients undergoing a major application transformation. The role is to provide Test Management for multiple scrum teams working to demanding timelines. The role requires the ability to manage large teams, effect change at scale and oversee test efforts and strategy for large and complex test delivery. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in consultancy, extensive client facing experience and ability to work well under pressure.,

  • Maintaining and enhancing test strategies, and defining Test Plans for a large and complex delivery programme

  • Dealing with escalations, flagging risk and identifying solutions and mitigations

  • Reviewing test practices, implementing improvements and coaching the team

  • Participating in the test delivery, ensuring the testing meets quality, time, and cost objectives

  • Working closely with key stakeholders from the client, building strong trusted relationships

  • Driving automation strategy; directing scope, priorities and improvements for test automation

  • Defining quality KPIs, test progress and status reporting

  • Managing your time and daily tasks to ensure project success

  • Having a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

  • Helping develop team members and encourage a culture of best practice

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and advancements in software testing

  • Working with the Test Leadership Team to support wider test initiatives

  • Involvement in test recruitment activities

    Relevant Test Management and leadership experience, particularly leading large teams

  • Experience of system testing, e2e testing, user acceptance testing

  • A proven track record in consultancy and extensive client-facing/stakeholder experience

  • ISTQB foundation or higher

  • Test Management Tool Expertise (such as ADO, Xray, Zephyr, Tricentis) with experience of report and dashboard building

  • Risk identification, management, and mitigation experience

  • Experience defining quality KPIs, test progress and status reporting

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills

  • Experience of automation management, driving automation maturity, directing scope and priorities for automation team

  • Good understanding of automation best practice, tooling and automated pipelines

  • Track record of bug advocacy and defect management

  • Proven technical ability - combined with strong business acumen

  • Full knowledge of the project lifecycle and experience of working on a multi-stream Agile delivery model across multiple locations

  • Be a problem solver. You must be able to think through technical problems and provide pragmatic solutions

  • Experience of providing estimates for testing effort

  • Experience of producing effective management reports, managing expectations and conflict as well as great resource planning experience.

  • Experience of co-ordinating non-functional testing activities

  • Knowledge of Release Management, able to contribute to Release Strategies and understanding of CI/CD processes

  • Experience working directly with Account Executives and can discuss at a commercial level
