Full Job Description

We are looking for a Team Leader to support our young people in our Worcestershire children's home.,

  • Plan, manage, and lead shifts ensuring children are kept safe and engaged

  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care at all times

  • Be flexible, consistent, reflective and creative in your engagement with the young people

  • Conducting regularly key working sessions with the young people

  • The requirement to sleep overnight at the home

  • Work flexibly, which includes office hours, early morning and late nights, regular weekend hours & bank holidays, Do you have any health conditions which may affect your ability to fulfil this leadership job in line with your duty of care to support and safeguard children both physically and emotionally?

  • Do you take any medication which may adversely affect your physical and/or mental health in the workplace to support and safeguarding children, including affects on decision making?

  • What is your current notice period?

  • Are you on the DBS Update Service (and have access to your DBS certificate attached to the Update Service?)

    Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification (ESSENTIAL)

  • Minimum of 1 year's referenceable experience working with children and young people in a residential home (ESSENTIAL)

    Your shift hours will be 07:00 - 22:30 (+ sleep-in). Our current shift pattern is 2 on 4 off.


  • Rates/salary:
  • Total salary £32,214 - £33,584 (basic inclusive of sleeps)

  • Overtime hourly rate of £14.06

  • Enhanced hourly rate (selective days) of £17.56

  • £55 per sleep-in (TL's complete 9-11 sleeps p/m)

  • Birthday off and paid (value of £200 to £250)

  • £150 bonus for successfully completion probation period

  • Weekend standby incentive of £40 per day, Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
