Full Job Description

Thames Valley Police is actively seeking a highly proficient Senior Solution Architect to contribute to our technology landscape, designing and supporting the strategic roadmap for all End User Device Technologies, while providing leadership to the architecture function.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the development of a new working model within the team, with a view to enhancing delivery and providing increased access to new technology through a more hands-on and collaborative approach to design and deployment., As a Senior Solution Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge End User Compute (EUC) solutions, driving operational efficiency and innovation. Your responsibilities include:

  • End User Compute Technologies: Demonstrate expertise in Microsoft 365 modern management, hybrid identity (Azure Active Directory, Intune & MEM), SCCM, Power Platform, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Android device management.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide technical expertise and guidance within project and business-as-usual work streams.



  • Well-Architected Designs: Ensure the cost efficiency, security by design, scalability, and reliability of the implemented solutions


  • Strategy & Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, keeping Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and Thames Valley Police at the forefront of technological advancements. Utilise this industry knowledge to feed into architectural strategy and to support Senior Architects in the development of technical strategies.


  • Design Methodology: Utilize informal and formal design methodologies, including design diagrams and narrative descriptions, reflecting your experience in architecture roles.


  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the team, across the organization, and with external vendors and deployment partners to ensure successful solution delivery.

  • Proven experience in End User Compute technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, SCCM, Power Platform, and Android device management.

  • Microsoft certifications, demonstrating your mastery in Microsoft technologies.

  • Relevant architecture experience/certifications highlighting your architectural proficiency.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams.

    Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
