Senior Production Planning Specialist

The Senior Production Planner will be a core part of the production team. Supporting the Production Manager, the Planner will be responsible for the organisation of permanent and hire projects, repairs and replacements and general equipment requests. They will have responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered on time and will also cover for the Production Manager in their absence.

The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail who has experience of planning and managing materials within a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills are vital for this role, communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders and to tight deadlines is key to ensuring equipment is delivered on time.

The role requires a flexible approach; deadlines can shift at short notice due to external factors, and so the Planner must be able to keep organised and on top of new information and react in a timely manner.,

• Day-to-day support of the Production Manager.


• Production scheduling to meet deadlines for projects and replacement requests.


• Liaising with project managers and field engineers for requirements and deadlines.


• Direct the production team with work priorities and provide cover for the Production Manager in their absence.


• Loading requirements into Sales Order within Sage stock control system.


• Analyse Sales Order requirements and minimum stock levels to communicate Purchase Order requirements to Procurement.


• Creation of works orders.


• Creation of job pick lists.


• Generating of job cards (WIP tags).


• Stock allocations.


• Manage logistics and shipping requirements.


• Planning of RMA repairs and keeping on top of Service Stock levels.


• Support of the production process for new and existing products.


• Work with Production Manager to improve production processes and efficiencies.


• Maintain flexibility and the ability to cover goods in/out to cover absences.


• Support regular stock taking activities.


• Actively support H&S activities within the organisation.


• Work with Stores Supervisor to ensure best warehouse practices are utilised.
  
  Experience with planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


• Experience working to deadlines.


• Proven track record of efficient planning and managing materials.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong problem-solving skills


• Ability to work to tight timescales and manage multiple tasks


• Ability to remain calm under pressure.


• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
