Senior Mental Health Practitioner - OT - Abingdon

There will be opportunities to develop clinical skills through ongoing training, such as Systemic skills, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy skills and Dialectical Behaviour Skills. Mandatory training will be provided as well as ongoing training to undertake the role. In house training by CAMHS specialist teams occur regularly and on an ad hoc basis.

The CAMHS South Getting Help Team serves the community of Abingdon, Didcot, Wantage, Henley, Thame, the surrounding villages and parts of Oxford, providing a service that operates Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. This post is full time but if that doesn't work for you, we're open to discussions about part time hours too!

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and access to a car for work, if necessary adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapist, Family therapists, Psychologists and Consultant Psychiatrists, with plenty of opportunity for sharing skills and knowledge.

We're looking for someone who can work either full time, or part-time hours - as long as you can commit to a minimum of 22.5 hours a week.

In this role, you'll be delivering generic mental health assessments and risk assessments of children and young people (CYP) open to the Getting Help Team. Depending on the needs of the CYP this could either be on an urgent or routine basis. Working collaboratively with CYP families/other agencies, you will develop holistic plans of care which are evidence based.

You'll be holding a clinical caseload which consists of key working as well as providing evidence based therapies. We'll also need you to partake in the consultation line, where the clinician responds to and support plans for children and young people who are presenting with an element of risk.

The Getting Help CAMHS team is a supportive team with a particular focus on your wellbeing.
