Full Job Description

  • Working with the Global Financial Cost Controller and taking responsibility for reporting on several trading business units, ensuring costs are accurately reported as well as assisting with statutory, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations and tax reporting.

  • Month-end with detailed Actuals reporting and trend analysis and post cost journals including prepayments and accruals.

  • Maintaining and ensuring all cost balance sheet reconciliations are prepared accurately and signed off in line with the agreed timetable.

  • Assisting in building up the Cost internal control environment and with monthly/quarterly FAR register maintenance and reporting.

  • Evaluating actual monthly performance vs latest forecast, explaining the variance and highlighting financial performance

  • Deal with taxation matters via liaison with the Tax team and a assist in interim and annual statutory audits, tax audits and transfer pricing audits.

  • Performing intercompany reconciliation for all business units.

  • Deal with frequent ad-hoc queries from various stakeholders including Group Finance, FP&A and Tax team.

    Are you a qualified (or almost qualified) accountant with cost management accounting experience within a financial control team, a high level of analytical ability, strong business partnering skills and meticulous attention to detail? If so, you could bring your experience and solid knowledge within a cost control environment to the newly created role of Senior Management Accountant in SHL's Cost Control team., Qualified (or almost qualified) accountant with substantial cost experience in a finance controllership team

  • Experience of month end close

  • Strong business partnering and high level of analytical ability

  • Good understanding and knowledge of IFRS


  • Desirable:
  • Experience reviewing, documenting, implementing, and improving controls.

  • Capable of adhering to internal or external deadlines

  • Infor system experience

  • Meticulous attention to detail
