Full Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to support the growth and control of Checkit plc. You'll be responsible for our annual budgeting process, month end performance reporting, involved in year end and audit, and will business partner different functions, leading on their budgeting, forecasting and financial reviews. As Checkit continues on its growth journey you too will continue to develop, learn and grow.
You'll be an energetic, driven and career minded person. You're a collaborative team player with great communication skills and the willingness to get involved in a wide range of finance related tasks, learning and improving at every step of the way. You'll also have the opportunity to manage, mentor and develop our Trainee Management Accountant.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing, completing and delivering the monthly management accounts.

  • Completing month end analytical reviews, comparing results to budget and forecast.

  • Reconciling and reviewing monthly balance sheet.

  • Providing financial analysis to departments across the business.

  • Owning and delivering the preparation of the annual budget and reforecast.

  • Assisting with the year-end accounting and audit processes.

  • Business partnering the Operations team through analysis and insight.

  • Supporting improvement to processes and continuously striving to improve own operating standards and methods in order to meet and exceed targets.

  • Supporting the development of the Trainee Management Accountant.

  • Completing adhoc projects to support the function and drive improvements.

    Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a background in similar roles.

  • SME finance experience, appreciating the multi-faceted requirements of a role of this type.

  • Experience in completing monthly management accounts and month end / year end processes.

  • Comfortable with data sets that need to be understood and unpicked.

  • Experienced in budget forecasting and reviews.

  • Background in finance business partnering.

  • People management and leadership skills with the ability to develop junior team members.

  • Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and succinctly to non-finance audiences.

  • Problem solving skills, able to influence solutions by proposing evidence-based recommendations.

  • An analytical and data-driven mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Meticulous, proactive, enthusiastic, and a close eye for detail.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work well towards strict targets and deadlines.

  • Good Microsoft Excel knowledge including advanced features like power pivot, sumifs, v-lookups, etc.

  • Experience of using finance systems. Previous knowledge of Sales Force and Certinia would be beneficial.

  • Based within commutable distance of Fleet, Hampshire.
