Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Senior Integration Developer? We are seeking applicants for a new and exciting opportunity within our Middleware Integrations team. The Team develops, maintains and supports the University's MS Azure Integration Services (AIS) platform and associated Master Data Management capability, including the development, testing and maintenance of AIS/Application connectors, business process mapping, and multi-application integration services. In addition, the team also supports our legacy Enterprise Service Bus BizTalk platform and the University's Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution., Based on the beautiful University of Reading Campus in Berkshire, our Middleware Team is rapidly expanding, due to the large number of exciting projects and initiatives being delivered as part of our the University's 5 year Digital Strategy. As a result, we are looking for a skilled Senior Integration Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Senior Systems Managers, DTS Business Partners, customers across the University, and Third Party suppliers, to identify and respond to changing customer demands and development opportunities, encouraging the widespread adoption of Service Oriented Architecture within the University's systems portfolio.,

  • Planning, evaluating, designing and overseeing the development of integration deployments, across a portfolio of projects and a roadmap of data integration improvements.

  • Evaluating and managing the adoption of tools, techniques and processes to create a robust integration framework. Providing authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of data integration.

  • Having a good understanding of related level technical subjects (e.g. security, hosting, storage, networking, application and service capabilities, etc)

  • Managing data integration projects, conflicts and escalation across teams and departments by following processes in line with the department strategy.

  • Specifying and designing complex and business critical integrations, analysing and interpreting business requirements and translating these into technical designs.

  • Taking the technical lead on allocated Middleware projects: supporting, advising and managing the day-to-day tasks of other Middleware project team members as appropriate., If you have significant experience working in a Middleware or Integrations team designing, planning, and maintaining middleware applications and large-scale software applications we want to hear from you.

    Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of professional learning and development.

  • Experience integrating with complex APIs

  • Data integration design skills

  • Ability to prioritise your own work, as well as the work of other members of the team, in order to meet deadlines

  • Software administration for enterprise-wide middleware

  • Knowledge and experience of the principles of complex enterprise databases, their design and data structures

  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative Work effectively under pressure



  • Minimum Tech Stack Requirements:
  • Azure Integration Services Skills including: Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid

  • MSSQL programming

  • .Net development skills preferably C#

  • MS SSIS packages

  • Understanding of industry best practice relating to

  • Change and release management

  • Software testing

  • Knowledge and experience of integration patterns, APIs, event-based integrations, loose coupling.
